Job summary

Whizants (Pty) Ltd. is seeking a skilled Cloud Engineer to design, deploy, and manage secure, scalable cloud environments, blending cloud and on-premise expertise in a fast-paced setting.

The role focuses on deploying across AWS, Azure, and GCP, maintaining hybrid Windows/Linux environments, and collaborating with development teams to optimise architecture and security. Proficiency with containers and IaC tools is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in Cloud Engineering or Systems Administration.
• Strong Linux and Windows environment skills.
• Understanding of networking and ISP environments.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and manage cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Maintain hybrid environments (Windows Server, Linux, AD, GPO).
• Configure and support networks (firewalls, routers, switches).
• Implement cloud security, governance, and compliance.
• Automate deployments using Terraform, Ansible, or similar tools.
• Monitor system performance, availability, and cost optimisation.
• Support DR, backup, and high availability solutions.
• Collaborate with development teams on cloud architecture.

Role Overview:

We are looking for a skilled Cloud Engineer to design, deploy, and manage secure, scalable cloud environments. This role is ideal for someone with a strong mix of cloud and on-premise infrastructure experience, who thrives in a fast-paced, solutions-driven environment.

Minimum requirements:

• 3–5 years’ experience in Cloud Engineering / Systems Administration
• Strong experience with Linux and Windows environments
• Understanding of networking and ISP environments
• Exposure to containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes)
• MSP and VoIP experience advantageous

Key Responsibilities:

• Deploy and manage cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
