Job summary

LexisNexis Legal & Professional in South Africa seeks a Senior AWS DevOps Engineer to shape and evolve a global CI/CD platform. You will partner with engineering teams to build secure, scalable delivery pipelines using IaC, automation, and modern DevOps practices.

You will influence platform standards, improve developer experience, and enable consistent software delivery across cloud environments with Terraform, Jenkins, and Python tooling.

Qualifications

• Hands-on with AWS and IaC using Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Strong experience designing and supporting CI/CD platforms, with Jenkins.
• Strong Python skills, building reusable tooling and automation; familiarity with containers and deployments (Docker, ECR, GitOps, blue/green).
• Experience integrating security, quality, and compliance into CI/CD workflows.
• Experience improving observability using Open Telemetry.
• Strong troubleshooting and collaboration across global teams.
• Practical experience using AI tools in engineering workflows.
• Experience with GitHub Actions and/or Azure DevOps; exposure to Kubernetes.

What we are looking for:

• Strong background in automation
• Strong skills in Bash, Ksh or Python scripting
• Experience with Azure
• Experience with Docker, OpenShift and/or Kubernetes
• Experience with Unix/Linux
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices
• Knowledge of networking and cybersecurity practices
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Good communication skills, maturity and the ability to work in a team

• Depending on the level you apply for, anywhere between 2 and 10+ years of experience in DevOps

Nice-to-have:

• Experience with Helm and ArgoCD
• IaC experience with Terraform and/or Ansible
• Knowledge of SQL
• Ideally, a degree in Computer Science or a related field
• Previous experience in financial services, specifically credit and transactional products
