Job summary

DeARX's client, a leading bank in Sandton, seeks a Cloud Architect to lead the design of enterprise cloud platforms that are secure, scalable, and aligned to business strategy.

You will drive cloud governance, IaC, and migration initiatives across hybrid/multi-cloud environments, ensuring compliance and operational excellence in a highly regulated banking context.

Qualifications

• 8–12 years IT experience.
• Minimum 5 years in Cloud Architecture roles.
• Proven experience designing enterprise-scale cloud solutions.
• Strong experience with cloud migration and modernisation programmes.
• Experience across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
• Financial Services, Banking, Insurance, or other highly regulated industry experience is highly advantageous.
• Experience leading enterprise transformation initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the bank's enterprise cloud architecture and cloud adoption strategy.
• Design secure, scalable, highly available cloud solutions across Azure, AWS and GCP environments.
• Lead cloud transformation and application modernisation initiatives.
• Develop cloud governance frameworks, standards, and architectural best practices.
• Support migration of applications, infrastructure, and data to cloud platforms.
• Ensure cloud environments meet security, regulatory, and compliance requirements.
• Drive Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automation, CI/CD, and DevOps best practices.
• Champion cloud operational excellence, resilience, disaster recovery, and FinOps cost optimisation.
• Provide architectural leadership to engineering teams, solution architects, and business stakeholders.
• Present architectural recommendations to senior leadership and governance forums.

What We're Looking For Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• Postgraduate qualification is advantageous.

Experience
