Job description

Job Title and Location

A vacancy exists for a Clinical Training Specialist, based at Life Fourways Hospital. The successful candidate will report to Judy Naidoo, Nursing Standards Manager.

Role Overview

The Clinical Training Specialist will coordinate and deliver clinical nurse training to ensure competent, qualified nurses and students, aligned with LHC strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Management of CPD & other programs: Plan, coordinate, and participate in nursing competency requirements, providing coaching and mentoring, and engaging in induction activities.
  2. Risk-based in-service training programs: Plan, monitor, participate in incident investigations, contribute to quality projects, and conduct emergency training scenarios.
  3. Student clinical programs: Participate in student selection, manage administration, facilitate skills development, provide feedback, support research, and engage in learning activities.
  4. Research: Identify clinical practice issues and develop improvement plans.
  5. Marketing nursing profession: Promote nursing careers through community and institutional initiatives.
  6. Hospital collaboration: Assist with hospital duties, nursing care, and departmental support as part of the Enabling Team.
Minimum Requirements
  • Diploma/Degree in Nursing and Nurse Education registration or proof of registration in Nurse Education
  • Registration as Assessor and Moderator with SANC if no Nurse Education registration
  • At least 3 years of nursing experience
  • Clinical leadership expertise
  • Knowledge of nursing legislation and education systems
  • Understanding of change management, facilitation, and assessment skills
  • Computer proficiency and a valid driver’s license
