Clinical Training Specialist

A vacancy exists for a Clinical Training Specialist at Life Wilgers Hospital, reporting to the Nurse Manager General. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and delivering clinical nurse training to ensure competent qualified nurses and students-in-training in line with LHC strategic objectives.

Critical Outputs

1. Effective management of CPD & other programs for qualified nurses

• Participate in the identification and planning of the nursing component of the WSP according to hospital requirements and in line with the Nursing function strategy.
• Plan & coordinate CPD and other programs for qualified nurses, conduct competency-based assessments, provide mentoring and coaching, and submit required information to the Nursing function.
• Participate in hospital quality review meetings to provide feedback.

• Plan & coordinate clinically-related risk-based in-service training programs, monitor compliance, participate in incident investigations, facilitate preventative training, and contribute to hospital quality projects.
• Ensure product competence through in-service training to facilitate compliance.
• Identify risks and implement corrective actions as needed.

• Participate in student selection, manage student administration, and coordinate clinical placements and assessments.
• Engage in feedback processes and research projects related to clinical practice.

• Identify gaps, investigate, develop action plans, and facilitate publication of findings.

• Promote nursing within the community, participate in marketing initiatives, and support community engagement to enhance the profession's image.

Requirements

• Diploma/Degree in Nursing with 3-5 years post-registration experience.
• Current SANC registration and Registered Assessor status.
• Clinical leadership skills and knowledge of nursing legislation and education systems.
• Understanding of change management, facilitation, assessment, and computer skills.
• Valid driver’s license.
