Qualifications

Job description

Vacancy exists for a Clinical Training Specialist, based in PE.

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and facilitating clinical education for nursing staff and students in the field of Critical Care to achieve clinical competency.

Critical Outputs :

  1. Effective management of CPD & other programs for qualified nurses
  2. Plan, coordinate, and participate in nursing competency requirements of the hospital and nursing function
  3. Provide coaching and mentoring to staff to ensure clinical competence
  4. Effective management of risk-based in-service training programs (including quality)
  5. Plan, coordinate, and monitor risk-based in-service training programs
  6. Participate in incident investigation
  7. Participate in hospital quality projects, provide feedback, identify deviations, and take remedial action where necessary
  8. Identify risks and competence in the use of products through in-service training
  9. Effective management of internal and approved external student clinical programs (planning, facilitating, and evaluating)
  10. Participate in the selection process of internal and external students
  11. Ensure proper management of student administration and resources
  12. Identify relevant learning opportunities and facilitate clinical skills development
  13. Provide feedback on student progress to the Learning Centre and HOD
  14. Support students with research projects in the hospital environment
  15. Effective research on relevant clinical practices
  16. Identify and formulate action plans related to clinical delivery problems
  17. Effective marketing of the nursing profession
  18. Participate in marketing the professional image of nursing
  19. Participate in marketing initiatives with students and learning centres to promote nursing as a career
  20. Participate with students in community events to promote the hospital

Requirements :

  1. Diploma / Degree in Nursing
  2. Postgraduate Diploma in Nursing Education
  3. Current registration with SANC and Registered Assessor & Moderator
  4. Knowledge of legislation governing nursing practice
  5. Knowledge of nursing education systems and legislation
  6. Understanding of change management principles
  7. Facilitation and assessment skills
  8. Computer proficiency
  9. Driver's license and own transportation (advantageous)
