NORTH-WEST UNIVERSITY (POTCHEFSTROOM CAMPUS) invites applications for a Senior Lecturer - Clinical Pharmacologist in the Faculty of Health Sciences, Desmond Tutu School of Medicine. The appointment supports MBChB curriculum development and coordinates the Foundational Phase with a focus on clinical pharmacology integration.

The role requires extensive clinical pharmacology expertise, HPCSA registration, and a track record in teaching and curriculum development.

Qualifications

• MBChB or equivalent with NQF level 8.
• Postgraduate qualification in Clinical Pharmacology (NQF level 9).
• BLS and ACLS certification or equivalent.
• HPCSA registration as Medical Specialist in Clinical Pharmacology.
• Eligibility to practice clinically in South Africa as a Clinical Pharmacologist.
• 1–2 years' clinical practice experience as independent Clinical Pharmacologist.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate curriculum development related to Clinical Pharmacology across Foundations and Intermediates.
• Support assessment development for Foundational and Intermediate Phases.
• Assist clinical skills curriculum across Modules 4–6.
• Coordinate Foundational Phase of MBChB, mentor staff and students in professionalism and patient-centred care.
• Support ad hoc clinical and research work for the Desmond Tutu School of Medicine.
