Placements24 in East London invites a Clinical Pharmacologist to join our Clinical Development team. You will design, oversee, and interpret PK/PD studies to inform dose selection and optimize regimens across target populations, collaborating with operations, biostatistics, and regulatory affairs.

You will contribute to regulatory submissions (INDs/NDAs), stay abreast of guidelines, and leverage state-of-the-art facilities to advance innovative therapeutics from research to patients.

Qualifications

• MD or PhD in Pharmacology, Clinical Pharmacology, or a related medical science field.
• Board certification or eligibility in Clinical Pharmacology is highly preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in clinical pharmacology.
• Strong PK/PD, metabolism knowledge; regulatory submission experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and oversee clinical pharmacology study protocols (Phase I SAD, MAD, etc.).
• Oversee conduct of studies in accordance with GCP and regulations.
• Analyze PK/PD and DDI data; conduct population PK analyses.
• Develop dose selection rationales and titration strategies.
• Contribute to regulatory submissions (IBs, INDs, NDAs).
• Stay current with literature and regulatory guidelines.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly qualified Clinical Pharmacologist to join their Clinical Development team in East London. This role is critical in designing, overseeing, and interpreting clinical pharmacology studies that inform dose selection, optimize therapeutic regimens, and assess drug safety and efficacy in target patient populations. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including clinical operations, biostatistics, and regulatory affairs, to advance drug candidates through the development lifecycle. This position offers a unique opportunity to influence the clinical strategy for new pharmaceutical agents and contribute to bringing innovative treatments to patients, leveraging state-of-the-art facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop clinical pharmacology study protocols, including Phase I studies (e.g., SAD, MAD, TGD, DDI).
• Oversee the conduct of clinical pharmacology studies, ensuring adherence to protocols, GCP, and regulatory requirements.
• Analyze and interpret clinical pharmacology data, including PK/PD, drug-drug interaction, and population PK data.
• Develop scientific rationale for dose selection and titration strategies.
• Contribute to the preparation of regulatory submission documents (e.g., Investigator's Brochures, INDs, NDAs).
• Stay current with scientific literature, regulatory guidelines, and emerging trends in clinical pharmacology.

Requirements

• M.D. or Ph.D. in Pharmacology, Clinical Pharmacology, or a related medical science field.
• Board certification or eligibility in Clinical Pharmacology is highly preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in clinical pharmacology within the pharmaceutical industry or academia.
• Strong understanding of pharmacokinetics (PK), pharmacodynamics (PD), and drug metabolism.
• Experience with regulatory requirements and submission processes for drug development.
• Excellent scientific, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary environment.
