Job summary

Mediclinic is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist to lead expert patient-oriented pharmaceutical care in a hospital setting. The role focuses on antimicrobial stewardship, optimisation of antimicrobial use, and providing clear pharmaceutical information to the hospital team.

Essentially, you will deliver clinical pharmacy services, contribute to antimicrobial stewardship initiatives, ensure safe dispensing, and support medication policy development within a high-standard private healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• Essentials: MPharm or equivalent postgraduate degree in Clinical Pharmacy.
• Desirable: Antimicrobial Stewardship course and Infection Prevention/Control related course.
• 2–3 years of experience as a Clinical or Ward Pharmacist.
• Experience in managing an Antimicrobial Stewardship Programme is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide Clinical Pharmacy Services to the hospital.
• Initiate and implement the Antimicrobial Stewardship Programme and enhance the appropriate utilisation of antimicrobials.
• Provide information related to pharmaceutical utilisation, trends, strategies and medication to the hospital.
• Mitigate and support the management of pharmaceutical risks in the hospital.
• Ensure accurate dispensing where applicable.

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

To lead an expert patient-oriented pharmaceutical care service that promotes the appropriate use of medicines in the hospital

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

Provide Clinical Pharmacy Services to the hospital

Required Education

ESSENTIAL MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 2 - 3 years years’ experience as a Clinical or Ward Pharmacist
