• Serve as a clinical resource to assess, plan, implement, evaluate and document nursing care in the unit.
• Ensure communication with family and health professionals to optimise patient care and advocate for patients.
• Collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team to develop and implement health care plans and treatment regimes.
• Coordinate patient care across shifts, including documentation reflecting patient status and staffing.
• Prepare day/night shift reports and communicate activities to the unit manager.
• Participate in policy development, quality and risk management to ensure a safe environment.
• Support ongoing education and mentoring for nursing staff and students.
