Purpose of the Position
To deliver an evidence-based, combination prevention package focusing on HIV prevention (including oral PrEP), sexual health services, HIV, TB, STI screening, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing care, including condom promotion and distribution. The role also involves navigating referrals into healthcare facilities as needed.
Minimum Requirements
- Degree/diploma or relevant nursing qualification
- 5 years' nursing experience post-registration
- Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Professional Nurse
- NIMART trained
- IMCI trained
- Quality improvement certification
- Proficiency in English & IsiZulu
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain relationships with facility managers and stakeholders
- Implement integrated sexual and reproductive health services including HIV counselling, ART, PrEP, pregnancy testing, contraception, PEP, TB and STI screening, mental health, and substance abuse management
- Train, mentor, and coach Operation Phuthuma Champions
- Mentor initiation and retention teams
- Support men's health services including VMMC
- Organize health awareness activities and campaigns
- Facilitate disclosure and adherence clubs
- Submit monthly reports
- Collaborate with government departments and community partners
- Adhere to Infection Prevention Control (IPC) standards and PPE protocols
