Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license and proficiency in troubleshooting.

Job Title: Clinical Engineering Technician

The Clinical Engineering Technician is responsible for the maintenance and management of medical equipment in hospitals, ensuring compliance with manufacturer specifications and healthcare regulations. The role requires maintaining operational continuity in accordance with Clinix Health Group standards and legal requirements.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience
  • National Diploma in Electrical Engineering (Clinical or Electronics), NQF Level 6
  • At least 3 years of experience managing and maintaining medical equipment in a hospital environment
  • Membership of the Clinical Engineering Association of South Africa (CEASA)
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing electronic medical equipment
Minimum Job Requirements
  • Attend to daily job cards from internal stakeholders
  • Perform diagnostics, fault finding, and troubleshooting on medical equipment
  • Maintain and update the asset register regularly and conduct asset verification biannually
  • Plan, schedule, and execute medical equipment services according to manufacturer specifications, legal requirements, and yearly planning
  • Provide on-call services after hours to address equipment issues promptly
  • Assist in the procurement process of new clinical equipment by providing guidance and support
  • Accurately record all service and maintenance activities on job cards
  • Implement and monitor technical and maintenance processes in line with quality standards, policies, and governance
  • Manage stakeholder interests, adjusting priorities as needed to meet changing demands
  • Adhere to budget constraints and control costs within the clinical engineering budget
  • Compile and submit invoices to the line manager monthly
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports on corrective and preventive maintenance activities
  • Prepare expenditure reports on a weekly/monthly basis
