Clinical Data Management Lead, FSP, home-based in South Africa

Data Team Lead, home-based

You’ll be responsible for managing end-to-end delivery of data management services for multi-service projects, ensuring quality deliverables on time and within budget. You will direct the team in areas of project planning, execution, financial management, communications, and milestone deliverables.

Main Responsibilities

1. Provide leadership and vision to the team
2. Manage and deliver several large-scale, high-complexity/non-standard studies across various sponsors and therapeutic areas
3. Manage sponsors at both Study and Programme Levels
4. Oversee delivery in areas requiring specific expertise (e.g., Process, Finance)
5. Ensure milestones meet timelines and quality standards
6. Apply project management expertise working with customer data managers, key decision makers, and internal teams to improve processes and provide technical support
7. Maintain open communication with customers and Quintiles management to meet contractual obligations
8. Participate in and lead negotiations with customers
9. Establish strong communication channels with Data Operations, functional leads, project managers, and stakeholders
10. Support data management service delivery with comprehensive process and technical expertise
11. Create, review, and approve all data management plan (DMP) documents
12. Track service performance, identify root causes of issues, and implement corrective actions
13. Serve as escalation point for unresolved data issues, collaborating with clients, vendors, and internal teams for resolution
14. Maintain internal tracking systems and databases

Minimum Education & Experience

1. Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in health, clinical, biological, mathematical sciences, or related fields
2. Approximately 5 years of direct Data Management experience, including at least 3 years as a Clinical Data Management project lead
3. Strong ability to maintain customer relationships
