Dis-Chem is seeking a Qualified Clinic Sister to join their team in Westville Junction.

The primary responsibility of this role is to manage and operate a profitable Primary Health Care Clinic located within a pharmacy, within the scope of a registered nursing practitioner.

Minimum Requirements:

Essential:

  • Grade 12 – Matric
  • Tertiary qualification in General Nursing
  • Degree/Diploma in Midwifery
  • Registered with South African Nursing Council (SANC)
  • Nursing practitioner must obtain BHF registration
  • 2-3 years’ experience in practicing as a Primary Health Care Clinic Sister
  • Computer skills – Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

Advantageous:

  • Minimum 5 years practicing as a Primary Health Care Sister
  • Experience with Patient Record System, CKS & Allegra
Job Description:
  • Perform Clinic Sister duties according to industry regulations and best practices
  • Manage patient flow and clinic objectives to enhance service delivery
  • Ensure all clinic services are operational and available
  • Maintain accurate patient records and follow-up communication
  • Operate the clinic according to scheduled hours
  • Process claims accurately and promptly
  • Ensure all stock and equipment are in working condition and adequately stocked
  • Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders including patients, store managers, medical aids, suppliers, and community key players
Competencies:

Essential:

  • Knowledge of community health nursing, primary health care, and related fields
  • Quarterly CPD and in-service training with Dis-Chem
  • Strong command of English (written and oral)
  • Understanding of financial implications of clinic targets
  • Strong analytical skills for clinic statistics and commissions
  • Emotional intelligence, trustworthiness, and entrepreneurial flair
  • Team management and self-motivation skills
  • Time management

Advantageous:

  • Bilingual abilities
  • Knowledge of business objectives
  • Additional relevant courses such as Baby Immunisation, Family Planning, Primary Health Care, Breastfeeding, and Disease Management
