Our client in the AgriTech industry is looking for a Client Strategist / Account Manager to join their team.

POSITION INFO: Summary:

The primary purpose of this role is to drive revenue growth by taking initiative and expanding the client base within multiple commodity groups and areas within South Africa. As a Sales Representative, you will play a pivotal role in promoting the products/services, nurturing client relationships, whilst staying informed about industry trends, and contribute to the company's overall success and revenue growth. You will play a vital role in product prioritisation, assuring business that what they take to market is relevant and that the market is in need of these tools and features.

Responsibilities:

  1. Client Base Expansion:
    1. Market Analysis: Conduct thorough research to identify untapped business opportunities within a specific geographic area.
    2. Market Penetration: Develop and execute strategies for entering new markets and expanding the company's client base.
  2. Relationship Building:
    1. Effective Communication: Establish open lines of communication with potential clients, ensuring their needs and concerns are heard and addressed promptly.
  3. Ensuring New Client Engagement:
    1. Onboarding: Guide new clients through the implementation process, ensuring they are engaged and committed to the company's products or services with the assistance of the commercial and operational team.
  4. Market Research:
    1. Trend Monitoring: Continuously monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and market conditions in South Africa.
    2. Data-Driven Decisions: Use market research findings to make informed decisions and adapt sales strategies accordingly with the commercial team.
  5. Sales Strategy Development:
    1. Collaboration: Work closely with the team to develop comprehensive and effective sales strategies.
  6. Pipeline and Target Management:
    1. Lead Identification: Identify and qualify potential leads to create a robust sales pipeline on HubSpot.
    2. Regular Reporting: Provide regular updates and reports to the team regarding the status of the sales pipeline.
    3. Value Demonstration: Confidently deliver compelling sales presentations that highlight the value and benefits of the company's products or services.
    4. Live Demoing: Understand the client needs and the solution our product/services can offer by demoing a heavy hitting solution.
    5. Problem-Solving: Address client needs and potential pain points during presentations, offering solutions and demonstrating how the company can meet their requirements.
  7. Product Knowledge:
    1. Product Expertise: Maintain a deep understanding of the company's products or services, including their features, benefits, and unique selling points. Use this knowledge to tailor solutions to individual client needs and tell a whole story of how feature sets fit together.
  8. Feedback and Improvement:
    1. Client Feedback: Act as a liaison between clients and internal teams, collecting feedback to help enhance products or services.

Requirements:

  • Proven track record in sales, with a strong emphasis on client acquisition and growth.
  • Familiarity with the fresh produce market and business culture.
  • Proficiency in using CRM software and other sales tools.
  • Proven verbal and written communications skills in English and Afrikaans.
  • Intermediate to advanced level of data skills.
  • 2 - 3 years’ experience in a logistics provider, perishable commodity agent/retailer or commercial farming company in a planning, operational, logistics or solutions role.
  • Experience in managing client/supplier relationships.
  • Experience in analysing operational processes and/or logistics operations.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, Agri Economics or a related field (preferred).
