Job description

JDJ Diagnostics is seeking a client services / switchboard operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional support to clients, ensuring smooth communication between laboratory healthcare providers, and assisting with various administrative tasks. This role requires excellent communication skills, organizational abilities, and knowledge of laboratory operations.

Key Responsibilities :

  1. Client Interaction : Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, including hospitals, clinics, and physicians, addressing inquiries, concerns, and requests.
  2. Order Processing : Assist clients in placing laboratory test orders, ensuring all necessary information is accurately entered into the system.
  3. Tracking of Lab Turnaround Time : Responsible for tracking samples into the lab via couriers, following up on results, and ensuring TAT is adhered to.
  4. Client Education : Educate clients on available testing services, processes, and turnaround times to ensure they are well-informed.
  5. Query Resolution : Address and resolve any client issues or concerns, coordinating with laboratory personnel for timely resolution.
  6. Database Management : Maintain and update client records in the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  7. Scheduling : Schedule appointments for specimen collection, informing clients of the process and timelines.
  8. Collaboration : Work closely with laboratory technicians, pathologists, and staff to ensure efficient workflow and client service.

Qualifications :

  1. Education : Completed Matric
  2. Experience : Previous experience in customer service, healthcare, or a laboratory setting is beneficial.
  3. Skills :
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Personal Attributes : Friendly, professional demeanor with a strong focus on customer service and patient satisfaction.

Required to work evening, morning, or weekend shifts based on client needs.
