The Client Project Manager is a skilled subject matter expert, responsible for leading and delivering multiple complex client infrastructure and Cloud projects.
The primary responsibility of the Client Project Manager is to deliver dedicated infrastructure and Cloud platforms, in datacentres across geographically diverse locations. Also to interface and work with all project stakeholders, supporting teams and resource, managing the lifecycle and ensure successful delivery and implementation of infrastructure and Cloud services.
This role takes responsibility for the delivery management of projects and programmes within the division and across towers and regions. The job requires strong collaborates skills, and the ability to engage with all levels of staff, including up to senior leadership where required.
In this role the Client Project Manager leads the delivery of multiple technical projects to achieve the business objectives, deliver the required services and to ensure the attached revenue is realised within the organization.
What you'll be doing
Key Responsibilities:
- Leads and delivers technically complex projects.
- Engages with stakeholders to deliver projects from original concept through final implementation.
- Ensures client satisfaction and manage escalations, acting as a single point of contact to the client.
- Ensures that the project delivers an as-sold solution, remains within the baselined budget and is delivered on time whilst maintaining quality criteria and client satisfaction.
- Manages the delivery of the project, including rigorous scope control and change management.
- Ensures client satisfaction and manage escalations, acting as a single point of contact to the client.
- Document and management to closure of risks and issues.
- Ensures clear and concise communications to all stakeholders.
- Provides pre-sales support by working with sales teams to scope and cost a project solution which includes the completion of a proposal. This may include Client presentations of our delivery approach as part of a tender process.
- Identifies opportunities and influences the sale by conducting a business conversation with the client positioning organizational consulting and technical services offerings.
- Coordinates activities of the project teams through task delegation or resource assignment etc.
- Performs any other related task as required to ensure the most efficient and successful delivery of customer projects and infrastructure.
Knowledge and Attributes:
- 10+ years experience as a technical Project Manager, with excellent project management skills. Including the ability to create plans, manage milestones, organize teams and resource, and to be accountable for the successful delivery of any project from initiation to completion.
- Ability to establish strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external clients.
- Ability to manage customer satisfaction, commitment, and expectations to high service levels and manage escalations adequately.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work in high-pressure environments.
- Seasoned ability to manage urgent and complex tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent business acumen and commercial skills.
- Passionate, strong initiative, self-driven with a commitment to succeed.
- Seasoned influencing ability whilst taking a collaborative approach.
- Decisive with good attention to detail ability.
- Seasoned ability to promote project services to both internal stakeholders and external clients.
- Competent in project change management, managing and controlling scope creep or change requests.
- Strong and demonstrable knowledge of the industry and technology, with a track record of delivering complex infrastructure and Cloud services in global datacenters.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to identify and address issues that may arise during project implementation.
Academic Qualifications and Certifications:
- Relevant IT degree, IT certifications or 10+ years' experience in a similar environment, delivering technically complex infrastructure and Cloud services.
- Relevant project management certifications preferably Prince or PMP.
- ITIL certification is beneficial.
Required Experience:
- 10+ years IT project management experience, preferably in a multinational professional services environment.
- Proven track record of delivering complex infrastructure and Cloud services in globally diverse datacenters.
- Client / Customer facing experience.
- Ability to create and manage project plans and milestones.
- Ability to identify, log, track and manage project risks, issues and challenges
- P&L and budget management
- Track record of working with Procurement teams and managing 3rd party suppliers and vendors.
