Client Manager

Aon South Africa is recruiting a Client Manager in our Commercial department, based on a hybrid basis from our offices in Pretoria.

The role of the Client Manager is to build and improve day to day client relationships, manage portfolios of client accounts and provide technical expertise to less experienced employees.

What the day will look like

Revenue Growth Responsibilities:

1. Accountable for generating new business through lead generation initiatives.
2. Engaging in upselling and cross-selling strategies with current clients.
3. Ensuring high levels of client satisfaction, retention, revenue growth, and profitability.
4. Coordinating, improving, and nurturing daily client relationships.
5. Developing comprehensive client profiles that assess risks and identify needs within the client portfolio.
6. Crafting insurance programs tailored to the specific needs of the clients.
7. Creating client documentation, including policy papers and claims data, and actively participating in renewal meetings and fee negotiations.
8. Managing the renewal process, which entails:
1. Collaborating with Client Service Advisors to prepare pre-renewal documentation.
2. Conducting meetings with clients – in person is the preferred method.
3. Negotiating terms with insurance providers.
4. Interacting with various departments within Aon to get the best solutions for clients.
5. Sending cancellation letters where necessary.
6. Collaborating with Client Service Advisors to uphold client service standards.
7. Providing support to the Strategic Account Manager or Business Manager for larger, more intricate accounts.
8. Maintaining compliance in all client interactions (Comply with FAIS; Draft comprehensive minutes of meetings; etc.).
9. Take ownership of credit control processes.
10. Assisting with claims inquiries from claims department as well as clients, as required.
11. Be a team player and willing to assist the team as and when required.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

Qualifications:

1. A minimum of Grade 12 or equivalent
2. A Bachelor’s degree is preferable
3. Must be registered as a representative with the FSCA in terms of the FAIS Act
4. Must be registered as an associate with the IISA

Knowledge:

1. Excellent knowledge of policy wordings
2. An extensive knowledge of the South short-term insurance markets
3. An in-depth strategic knowledge of industry and business strategies and company goals
4. Digital literacy with sophisticated know-how in MS Word and Excel.

Skills and Attributes:

1. Skill and confidence to articulate Aon’s proposition and how it differentiates Aon and benefits clients.
2. Advanced analytical, technical and problem-solving skills and abilities.
3. Fluency in the English language, both written and spoken.
4. Good interpersonal and organizational skills.
5. Ability to work effectively in and with teams.

Experience:

1. Have a demonstrated ability in a similar or related role.
