Clerk: Warehouse
Role Outline
To provide effective and efficient administrative support to Operations. Ensuring all records are aligned and accurate, and documentation is kept on record. The Warehouse Clerk works in conjunction with the manager to provide an accurate checking process as detailed in the SOP. Service delivery must be on time and accurate. Ensure customer service is of the highest standard and that losses to the company are minimized. Maintain the integrity of the company at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Report and record any non-conformity regarding customer requirements.
- Report faults/defects of warehouse equipment promptly.
- Handle pallets and related documents correctly.
- Ensure timely handover of correct documents/invoices for loads to transport.
- Maintain accurate customer records as hard copies and ensure documentation availability.
- Compile daily Delivery Reports for clients.
- Assist with cycle counts and stock takes.
- Ensure all Delivery Notes are filed properly.
- Verify loads after checking by the checker.
- Support change initiatives actively.
- Perform administrative tasks according to SOP.
- Ensure compliance with legislation, site policies, and health and safety requirements.
- Organize and submit weekly stationary consumable counts.
- Work within operational areas as determined by management and perform ad hoc duties as required.
- Check if loads are correctly stored by RT Operators.
- Verify and ensure accurate PODs and Pallet slips before sign-off.
- Report accurate and timely information to management.
- Build relationships across the supply chain, including outbound clerks, hauliers, customers, depots, and customer service.
- Maintain good housekeeping.
- Promote awareness of ISO standards and regulatory requirements related to QMS.
- Work effectively in a team environment.
- Develop interpersonal skills and participate in skills development initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience
- Matric
- 3-4 years of administration experience
- Computer literacy
- Good communication skills
- Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment
- Deadline-driven with accurate data capturing
- Attention to detail
- 1-2 years logistics/warehousing experience
- Knowledge of health and safety procedures
- Ability to work under pressure and meet targets
