Job summary

Pick n Pay is seeking an Inventory Controller to maintain the integrity of the store inventory and ensure accurate stock ledgers across stores in KwaZulu-Natal. The role focuses on counts, exit controls, obsolescence and overstock management, and collaboration with store management to resolve discrepancies.

Candidates must have Grade 12, 2-3 years retail experience, and be able to communicate in English. Assessments and competency interviews are part of the selection process, with willingness to

Responsibilities

• Inventory control: stock count plan execution across national, divisional and ad hoc counts
• Exit management control
• Dormancy, obsolescence and overstock controls
• Analyze posting discrepancies and advise corrective actions
• Ensure stock movement processes (Shop Use, RTC, inter-department transfers, Waste)
• Merchandising management: daily/weekly stock reports, stock availability by location, report deviations

Key Responsibilities:

• 1. Inventory control
  • Ensures stock count plan executed- National, Divisional and Ad Hoc counts
  • Ensures Exit management control
  • Ensures Dormancy, Obsolesce and Overstock controls
  • Analyses discrepancies in postings and advise Store management on corrective actions to follow
  • Ensures stock movement processes are followed e.g. Shop Use, RTC, Inter department transfers and Waste
• 2. Merchandising Management
  • Prints / Analyses daily & weekly stock reports e.g. In-store category review (Dormant - weekly), negative stock as a result of GapScan - daily
  • Confirms availability of stock by location for Dormant- / Obsolete - and Exit stocks
  • Reports deviations on merchandise standards /admin to Inventory manager
  • Reports non-compliance on Inventory movement process to Inventory manager e.g. inter department transfers, interbranch, waste
