Job Title: Cleaning Area Manager - Durban KZN

Job Location: KwaZulu-Natal, Durban

Deadline: June 16, 2025

Minimum Requirements
  1. Minimum five (5) years management experience in industrial & commercial industry or similar service industry.
  2. Matric and tertiary qualification preferred.
  3. Exposure to selling of a service will be advantageous.
  4. Exposure to Industrial Relations on a shop floor level will be advantageous.
  5. Preferably from a sales/operations background.
  6. Computer literate (MS Office, with good Excel skills).
  7. Valid driver’s license.
  8. Ability to work flexible hours as required.
Job Specification
  1. Ensure attendance registers are marked daily at the beginning of the shift, with correct labour allocation and updates as needed.
  2. Maintain control over all equipment in accordance with fixed asset policies and procedures.
  3. Authorize store orders through the Regional Manager and submit them promptly to the Stores Department.
  4. Maintain discipline using the Company’s disciplinary procedures and address grievances.
  5. Attend to daily messages and complaints promptly.
  6. Keep staff informed of policy changes affecting them.
  7. Prepare contingency plans for strikes and stay-aways.
  8. Conduct employee appraisals verbally and through formal performance reviews for supervisory staff and above.
  9. Adhere to company policies regarding retrenchments, promotions, etc.
  10. Perform regular inspections at all sites.
  11. Participate in client meetings, record minutes, and ensure prompt follow-up on issues.
  12. Handle engagements, pay rate changes, dismissals, with approval from the Regional Manager, and complete necessary documentation.
  13. Promote the company’s non-recurring business offerings.
  14. Attend monthly Area Manager meetings with Regional Managers to discuss wages, leave, costing, etc.
  15. Hold monthly meetings with supervisory staff, including agenda preparation and minute distribution.
  16. Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety regulations and other relevant laws.
  17. Address debtor queries and collect cheques as instructed by management.
  18. Oversee janitorial services jobs.
