Job summary

Gauteng Provincial Government, Department of Health, Rahima Moosa Mother and Child Hospital, is seeking a cleaning staff member to perform routine hospital cleaning duties. The role involves cleaning hospital wards, clinics, offices, corridors, kitchens, and restrooms, with high dusting and disinfection tasks as required.

The successful candidate will work in a team, operate cleaning equipment, and rotate across wards, including weekends and public holidays.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning of hospital and clinics using cleaning aids.

• Maintain cleaning materials and equipment; report broken machines and rotate within scope.
• Perform other duties as instructed by supervisor.

Requirements

• Basic ABET qualification. Ability to operate cleaning equipment (machines). Ability to read and write. Able to work in a team. Must be prepared to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays as well as being rotated to different wards or sections within the institution. Punctuality and good work ethics. Must have the ability to work under enormous pressure.

Duties

• Perform cleaning services of a routine nature by utilizing a variety of aids. Cleaning of hospital and clinics, departments, offices, corridors, elevators, boardrooms, kitchens, windows, and toilets/restrooms, do high dusting/disinfection of hospital environment, scrub downs and other related cleaning tasks. Keep and maintain cleaning materials and equipment. Report broken cleaning machines and equipment. Cleaning of machines and equipment after use. Request cleaning material. Rotate within the scope of work. Perform any other work-related duties as instructed by the supervisor.
