Job summary

Curro Langebaan is seeking a Class Assistant to support teachers and learners in the Foundation Phase. The role involves helping to create a structured, positive classroom atmosphere and assisting with planning, preparation and delivery of activities under teacher guidance.

The position is a temporary/contract role, with responsibilities including classroom support, behavior management, and assistance with sport, co-curricular and administrative duties as required.

• Studying towards a B Ed Foundation Phase.
• Relevant experience in a similar position.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with phase and class teachers to support the effective running of the phase and grade.
• Help create and maintain a positive, structured classroom atmosphere supporting teaching and learning.
• Assist with planning, preparation and delivery of learning activities under the guidance of the teacher.
• Support the management of learner behaviour in line with school policies and routines.
• Take responsibility for the proper use, care and safekeeping of school equipment, resources and stock assigned to the class and teacher.
• Assist with the organisation, supervision and promotion of sport and cultural activities within the school.
• Support teachers and the school with sport, co-curricular and administrative duties as needed.
• Provide general classroom and administrative support, including preparation of materials, basic record keeping and communication with learners where appropriate.
