Job summary

Curro Vanderbijlpark Combined seeks a YES Programme Candidate: Student Teacher (part-time) to start January 2027. The role is stipend-based for 12 months, offering classroom support, learner engagement and administrative assistance within a supportive learning community.

You will assist with lesson preparation, event support and resources while aligning with Curro’s ethos and values. Preference given to EE candidates.

Qualifications

• South African youth aged 18–34 years old and previously unemployed.
• Stipend-based opportunity with a 12-month contract.
• Qualification in Education or ECD is essential; SACE registration required.
• Live close to the Curro school you apply for.
• Passion for working with children and strong communication.
• Willing to assist with lesson prep, classroom organisation and activities.

• Classroom Support Assist teachers with lesson preparation, classroom organisation, and maintaining a positive learning environment.
• Learner Engagement Help learners stay focused, encourage participation, and provide one-on-one support where needed.

• Extramural & Event Support Assist with school activities, events, and extracurricular programmes to ensure smooth running and learner involvement.

Qualifications, experience and skills

• South African youth between 18 and 34 years old.
• Must be previously unemployed.
• Stipend range: R5 241,00 - R6 000,00 per month.
• Qualification in Education, Early Childhood Development, or related studies (essential).
• SACE registration (provisional or conditional accepted).
• Living close to the Curro school you are applying for.
• Passion for working with children, with patience and commitment to personal and professional growth.
• Strong communication skills to engage with learners, parents, and staff.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Energetic, reliable, and responsible, with a positive attitude towards learning and teaching.
