RPO Recruitment's client, a well-established engineering consulting firm in the Western Cape, is seeking an experienced Civil Engineering Technologist to join their team in Cape Town. The successful candidate will support the planning, design, and implementation of civil engineering projects, focusing on bulk earthworks, municipal services, roads, stormwater, and related infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with the design and detailing of civil engineering projects, including roads, stormwater, water supply, sewer systems, and bulk earthworks.
• Prepare engineering drawings, documentation, and reports using CAD and civil design software.
• Conduct site inspections and assist with contract administration and quality control.
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and clients to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
• Provide technical support during the construction phase and resolve site-related issues.
• Ensure compliance with SANS, municipal bylaws, and other relevant regulations.
• Contribute to tenders, cost estimates, and feasibility studies.

Requirements:

• National Diploma or BTech in Civil Engineering.
• At least 3-5 years of relevant civil infrastructure design and site experience.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and other design software.
• Knowledge of South African design codes and municipal standards.
• Registered or eligible for registration with ECSA as a Professional Engineering Technologist.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience working with government or municipal clients is advantageous.
• Practical knowledge of the project lifecycle from concept to commissioning.
• Ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary teams.
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
