The candidate should have a good understanding of environmental laws and support the assessment process by administering and reporting on assessment.
This role will be carried out under the guidance of a senior practitioner and may also involve helping with documentation and ensuring compliance with relevant procedures.
Key responsibilities:
Overseeing Environmental Control Officer (ECO) level duties on project sites, ensuring adherence to environmental management plans and mitigation measures.
Must have hands-on experience with the online submission and processing of applications in accordance with the National Environmental Management Act (NEMA), as well as Water Use License Applications (WULAs) through the Department of Water and Sanitation's online systems.
Qualifications / Experience Required:
Assisting in Environmental Impact Assessment (EIAs).
At least 3 years practical experience in environmental impact assessment.
Excellent communication and project management skills.
The ability to work under pressure.
The ability to work in a team and independently, as required.
