About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent and practical Civil Site Engineer to oversee and manage construction activities for various infrastructure projects in the Sandton area. This role requires a hands‑on approach, ensuring that construction is executed according to design specifications, quality standards, and safety protocols. You will work closely with project managers, contractors, and site personnel to resolve on-site challenges and ensure the efficient progress of work. This hybrid role allows for significant on-site presence while accommodating necessary remote coordination and reporting, providing a balanced and impactful role.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise and direct daily on-site construction activities for civil engineering projects. Ensure construction work is performed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and safety regulations. Conduct quality control inspections and testing of materials and workmanship. Monitor project progress, report on site conditions, and assist in resolving construction issues promptly. Maintain accurate site records, including daily logs, progress reports, and safety documentation. Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and design teams to ensure smooth project execution.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent practical experience. 3-5 years of experience in civil construction and site supervision. Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and site safety procedures. Familiarity with reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions on-site. Good communication and interpersonal skills for effective coordination.
