Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a results-driven Civil Project Engineer to oversee infrastructure projects in Vereeniging. You will lead multi-disciplinary teams, plan scopes, budgets and timelines, and ensure on-site execution meets design and safety standards.

The role emphasizes strong communication with clients and contractors, risk management, and delivering projects on time and within budget. Pr Eng or ECSA is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification.
• 5-7 years of experience in civil project engineering and construction management.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and project management software.
• Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, and project teams effectively.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng.) or ECSA registration is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manage all phases of civil engineering projects from initiation to closure.
• Develop detailed project plans, including scope, budgets, timelines, and resource allocation.
• Coordinate and supervise on-site construction activities, ensuring compliance with designs and safety regulations.
• Monitor project progress, identify and mitigate risks, and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.
• Ensure all project documentation, including reports and permits, is accurate and up-to-date.
