A well-established engineering organisation is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Civil Engineering Design Technologist / Technician to join their team. This is a permanent position, requiring a minimum of 5+ years of experience in the field. Flexi hours.

- Registered ECSA as a Candidate Engineering Technician (Required)
- Labour Intensive Construction NQF level 5 or 7 (Bonus)
Min Requirements (These are non-negotiable):
- National Diploma in engineering, in a relevant discipline
- Civil Designer, Civil 3D, AutoCAD
- Registration with ECSA as a Candidate (a Professional Engineering registration will be a bonus)
- Technician / Technologist, Labour Intensive Construction NQF level 5 or 7
- 5+ years Experience Required

- Supporting the engineering team on projects to complete the design work on time and within budget
- Providing input and technical guidance to CAD designers / drafters and lower-level engineers / technologists / technicians working on the same project
- Performing and checking calculations, specifying equipment, and solving complex engineering problems
- Checking and verifying designs done by junior design team members
- Assisting with the preparation of technical proposals
- Conducting feasibility studies, options analysis, and master planning
- Managing and directing design teams
- Acting as design team leader on identified project components
- Liaising with clients
- Processing survey and site investigation information
- Applying general drawing control practices
- Preparing Bills of Quantities, cost estimates, and lifecycle costs
- Developing and reviewing specifications, including design criteria
- Preparing procurement documents
- Writing formal reports and presenting work professionally
- Understanding industry codes, standards, client specifications, and expectations
- Understanding relevant legislation and regulations
- Analyzing and suggesting solutions to moderately complex problems in line with project objectives and guidelines

- Knowledge of the OHS Act and Construction Regulations
