Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required.

• Minimum of 5 years in civil engineering with a focus on urban design and planning.
• Pr Eng status with ECSA or EIT preferred.
• Proficiency in CAD software and urban planning tools.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop conceptual and detailed designs for urban infrastructure, including roads, sidewalks, public open spaces, and utility corridors.
• Integrate land use plans with infrastructure requirements, ensuring seamless urban development.
• Perform traffic impact assessments and design urban street networks.
• Design stormwater management systems and green infrastructure for urban areas.
• Collaborate with urban planners, architects, and landscape architects to create holistic urban designs.
• Ensure designs comply with municipal planning policies, zoning regulations, and relevant engineering standards.
• Prepare design reports, presentations, and visualizations for stakeholders and public consultations.

You will be involved in the design of public spaces, transport networks, and utility services within urban contexts, ensuring efficiency, sustainability, and livability. This position requires a blend of technical engineering skills and an understanding of urban development principles. You will collaborate with architects, urban planners, and community stakeholders to shape the future growth of the city.
