About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Civil Design Engineer to contribute to their innovative projects based in Port Elizabeth . This role involves the preparation of detailed designs, drawings, and documentation for a variety of civil infrastructure projects, including roads, stormwater systems, and site development. You will work collaboratively within a team of engineers and technicians, applying sound engineering principles and leveraging modern design software to produce high-quality outputs. The position offers a blend of office-based collaboration and remote flexibility, ideal for an engineer looking to grow their career in a supportive and technically stimulating environment within the Eastern Cape region.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed design plans and calculations for roadworks, earthworks, and drainage systems.
• Prepare technical specifications and contract documentation for construction projects.
• Utilize CAD and other design software to produce accurate engineering drawings and models.
• Conduct site visits for data collection, verification, and construction supervision support.
• Liaise with clients, local authorities, and other stakeholders to ensure design compliance and project alignment.
• Participate in design reviews and contribute to value engineering exercises.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Professional registration with ECSA as a Candidate Engineer or Pr. Eng is preferred.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in civil infrastructure design.
• Proficiency in Civil 3D , AutoCAD, and relevant design software.
• Solid understanding of geometric design principles and relevant SANS codes.
• Good communication and teamwork skills, with an ability to work effectively in a hybrid setting.
