Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Civil Engineer (roads and stormwater) for the Tembisa, Gauteng office. You will design, plan, and supervise road construction and rehabilitation projects while developing urban drainage systems to mitigate flooding and protect the environment.

You will work with municipal standards, conduct site surveys, prepare reports, and coordinate with planners and contractors to deliver sustainable, resilient infrastructure for the community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng) in Civil Engineering is required.
• Candidate Engineer Pr. Eng or Techni with ECSA registration is required.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in roads and stormwater design and project delivery.
• Proficiency with Civil 3D, AutoCAD and hydraulic modeling tools.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Civil Engineer with a specialization in roads and stormwater management to join their team based in Tembisa, Gauteng . This role is crucial for the development and maintenance of essential public infrastructure. You will be responsible for the design, planning, and supervision of road construction and rehabilitation projects, as well as the effective management of urban stormwater systems to mitigate flooding and ensure environmental protection. Key Responsibilities

• Design and detail roads, intersections, and associated infrastructure, including geometric design, pavement analysis, and traffic management considerations.
• Develop comprehensive stormwater management plans, including drainage network design, hydraulic modeling, and flood risk assessment.
• Conduct site surveys, prepare technical reports, and ensure compliance with municipal standards and environmental regulations.
• Oversee the construction phase of road and stormwater projects, ensuring quality control and timely completion.
• Collaborate with urban planners, architects, and other stakeholders to integrate infrastructure designs seamlessly.
• Manage project documentation, including tender preparation, bill of quantities, and contract administration.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng) in Civil Engineering.
• Professional registration as a Candidate Engineer (Pr. Eng. or Techni) with ECSA.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in roads and stormwater design and project implementation.
• Proficiency in civil engineering software such as Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and HEC-RAS or similar hydraulic modeling tools.
• Sound knowledge of South African road design standards (e.g., COTO) and environmental practices.
