Job description

Exciting opportunity to join our Client in the engineering industry for a Civil Engineer / Civil Engineering Technologist based in Cape Town.

They are looking for a talented candidate to complement their team, in the form of a Civil Engineer or Civil Engineering Technologist.

The purpose of this job is to produce technical deliverables and to assist the well-established team of Engineers and Technologists in the design, procurement, contract administration and construction monitoring of large scale multi-disciplinary projects. The successful candidate will form part of an existing design office and will report to the Directors.

Responsibilities

1. Design of municipal services, including the preparation of the relevant documentation
2. Produce technical deliverables for the design and implementation of bulk earthworks platforms, roads, stormwater-, sewer-, water services
3. Prepare bills of quantities and technical project specifications in line with the relevant SANS codes
4. Construction monitoring during implementation stage of projects
5. Prepare as-built drawings and close-out reports
6. Develop innovative and cost-effective solutions to problems/challenges
7. Interaction with Municipalities, Project Team and Clients

Requirements:

1. B Eng or B Tech in Civil Engineering (Non-negotiable)
2. Eligible for professional registration with ECSA in the next 2 to 5 years will be to the candidate's advantage
3. Minimum 5 years with specific civil services design experience (Including design experience in bulk earthworks, sewer networks, stormwater networks and water networks)
4. Experience in Stormwater Management Plans will be beneficial
5. Competent with Civil Designer and AutoCAD
6. Good communication and people skills
