Job description

As a Civil Engineer at Senwes, your purpose is to contribute to the design, construction, and maintenance of infrastructure projects within the agriculture industry, ensuring optimal efficiency and functionality.

Responsibilities :

  1. Analysis, design and procurement :
  2. Gather all relevant site and problem statement information to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the project at hand.
  3. Liaise with other disciplines (Mechanical, Electrical, Operations).
  4. Analyse and design relevant and cost-effective solutions.
  5. Prepare design and procurement information.
  6. Manage procurement process and acquire client approval through works submissions.
  7. Manage or oversee Civil Technologists, drafters, clerks of works, and other team members in executing the required works.
  8. Research and develop relevant technologies and applications.

Project Execution and Management :

  1. Conduct kick-off meetings with all relevant parties and review site documentation.
  2. Implement Construction Quality Assurance.
  3. Manage projects within budget, quality standards, and timeframes.

Project Close-Out and As-Build :

  1. Perform construction QA and inspections with clients and contractors, ensuring all relevant documentation is completed.
  2. Prepare as-built drawings with final sign-off.
  3. Compile asset lists and facilitate capitalization of constructed infrastructure.

Maintenance Management :

  1. Conduct condition assessments and structural audits.
  2. Manage inspections conducted by Civil technical personnel.
  3. Oversee the technical assessment of infrastructure conditions.
  4. Verify, improve, or develop new maintenance specifications.
  5. Oversee procurement and appointment of maintenance contractors.
  6. Develop, obtain approval for, and implement maintenance policies for civil infrastructure.
  7. Create long-term maintenance plans, secure client approval, and execute in stages.
  8. Manage maintenance expenditure within approved budgets.
  9. Supervise maintenance works executed by civil maintenance teams.

Management of Civil Discipline :

  1. Manage Civil Discipline as the Civil Engineering Discipline Lead.
  2. Develop and oversee yearly budgets for all relevant civil infrastructure.
  3. Manage client relations effectively.
  4. Plan short and long-term maintenance and capital expenditure strategies for civil infrastructure.
  5. Liaise with other disciplines and enhance the maturity of the Engineering and Property Assets (EPA) Unit.
  6. Improve unit procedures, processes, and systems.
