Overview

Our client is a leading renewable energy company specializing in solar PV and hybrid energy solutions. They are passionate about delivering sustainable, cost-effective, and innovative solar energy projects across South Africa. As they expand their portfolio of utility-scale and commercial solar installations, they are seeking a skilled and driven Solar Civil Engineer to join our dynamic team.

Responsibilities

• Design and review civil and structural aspects of solar PV systems (e.g., foundations, racking systems, drainage, access roads).
• Conduct site assessments, geotechnical analysis, and topographical evaluations.
• Prepare construction drawings, BOQs, and technical documentation.
• Ensure civil engineering designs meet regulatory, environmental, and safety standards.
• Support project managers during construction and commissioning phases.
• Liaise with subcontractors, local authorities, and clients to ensure timely and efficient project delivery.
• Perform quality inspections and site visits throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field (Master’s preferred).
• 3+ years of experience in civil engineering for solar or energy infrastructure projects.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, STAAD.Pro or equivalent design software.
• Solid understanding of civil engineering codes and standards (e.g., ACI, Eurocode).
• Familiar with permitting processes and environmental compliance.
• Strong problem-solving, project management, and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
