Civil Design Engineer

Location: Wigan, Lancashire

Salary: £32k - £40k

A well-known, nationwide multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy based in Wigan is currently looking for a Civil Design Engineer to design plot drainage and road strategies across various Residential Housing Schemes, as well as some Commercial projects including office spaces, nursing homes, and car parks.

The successful candidate will join a Civil and Structural office consisting of 12 technical staff (8 Civil and 4 Structural). The Wigan office operates independently and is fully self-sufficient, overseeing numerous UK offices. The company also offers a flexible working policy with a 2:3 home/office split.

Responsibilities:

• Design plot drainage schemes, preferably for Residential Housing projects
• Develop road strategies and drainage solutions
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver projects

Candidate Requirements:

• Between 2-6 years of experience in a similar design role
• Experience in designing plot drainage schemes
• Familiarity with PDS/Civil 3D and Microdrainage (training available if needed)
• HNC and/or Engineering or related degree
• Living within a commutable distance to Wigan

Additional Information:

Salary will be commensurate with experience. Candidates with over 1 year of experience are encouraged to apply but may be offered a slightly lower salary. Candidates with more experience will be considered for senior roles, with a healthy pipeline of upcoming projects due to recent office growth. Packages include an employer contributory pension scheme and 25 days of annual leave.
