Salary:
R40 000 - R50 000 per month

Main Purpose
Overall management of the Procurement Department's supply chain strategy and procurement clerks. Managing the sourcing, purchasing, and timely delivery of materials, equipment, and services at the right price, within budget, while adhering to project timelines and quality standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience in procurement management in the civil construction sector.
- Proven experience managing procurement teams for construction projects.
Technical Skills
- Strong background in construction (civil engineering beneficial) materials and principles, supply chain management.
- Familiarity with procurement and ERP software (e.g., Build Smart, MS Projects or similar).
- Contracts Management, Business Ethics, B-BBEE Compliance knowledge, Microsoft Office.
Soft Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with aptitude for resolving supply chain disruptions, quality concerns, or budget constraints.
- High level of integrity, organisation skills, and attention to detail.
- Adaptability and resilience to changing project requirements and market conditions.

Key Responsibilities
- Procurement expertise: sourcing, purchasing, and ensuring timely delivery of materials and services, developing procurement strategies, reviewing specifications, overseeing stores, and understanding market trends.
- Vendor, supplier & subcontractors management: issuing and managing contracts, ensuring legal compliance, managing relationships, and negotiating terms.
- Cost analysis and budgeting: analyzing costs, monitoring accounts, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Documentation & compliance: maintaining procurement records, supporting audits, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Team leadership & coordination: supervising procurement staff, coordinating with other departments, providing training, and liaising with stakeholders.
