Job summary

CAnnection in the Gamtoos Valley, Eastern Cape, is seeking an experienced Line Manager to oversee the daily citrus packing line operations. The role requires ensuring production targets, quality standards and labour efficiency are achieved while maintaining food safety compliance.

You will manage a 6 line optic sizer and coordinate with maintenance and quality control to resolve bottlenecks and improve processes.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee the daily operation of the citrus packing line
• Ensure production targets, efficiency, and output are met
• Lead, supervise, train and motivate production staff and line supervisors
• Ensure compliance with quality, food safety, and hygiene standards (BRC, PPECB)
• Monitor fruit quality and take corrective action where required
• Plan and allocate labour and resources according to production requirements
• Handle staff discipline, attendance, training, and performance management
• Maintain accurate production records, reports, and KPIs
• Identify and resolve operational bottlenecks and equipment issues
• Coordinate with maintenance, and quality control.
• Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations
• Implement continuous process improvement initiatives
• Responsible for the operation of a 6 line optic sizer with knowledge regarding mapping fruit quality.
