Qualifications

Job description

The overall purpose of this position is to act as Investigator/Auditor in the CIT environment aiming to resolve cash losses, bring culprits to book and seek preventative actions. Furthermore, the person will pro-actively audit operation branches, question procedures and suggest policies and procedures to prevent future cash losses, reduce armed robberies and enable a reduction in claims.

Minimum Requirements

  • Matric Certificate or equivalent.
  • Code 08 Driver's license (B).
  • Clear criminal record
  • Must be accredited by PSIRA with at least Grade B and CIT
  • Completed Firearm training in handgun and preferably rifle and have a valid SAPS Firearm Competency Certificate
  • Computer literacy within the MS Windows environment
  • Be prepared to work irregular hours and travel extensively
  • A minimum of 2 / 3 years’ experience in the security industry acting as investigator or similar role

Key Performance Areas

  • Research / investigate the activities of criminal elements and crime syndicates targeting the CIT Division.
  • Identify crime syndicates hotspot where armored vehicles or cross pavement operations are targeted, and Initiate intelligence driven operations to apprehend same.
  • Investigate internal cash losses systematically, seek and suggest preventative action.
  • Effectively compile and maintain case dockets containing sufficient evidence to apprehend and initiate prosecution or any other action deemed necessary action against both internal and external criminal elements and/or negligent employee behavior.
  • Submit processed evidence to relevant government authorities for necessary action.
  • Monitor and support relevant government authorities during above - mentioned action.
  • Network with the SAPS, National Prosecuting Authority, Directorate of Special Operation and any other relevant organization identified as necessary to achieve the said objectives.
  • Maintenance of a database containing information gathered during the above research / Investigations processes.
  • Perform audits at operational branches to pro-actively identify shortfalls.
  • Question current operational procedures and suggest changes to enhance it.
  • Closely liaise with the CIT Executive and other relevant managers to ensure that cash losses and armed robberies are prevented or kept to a minimum.
