The Georgia Department of Human Services (DHS), Division of Family & Children Services (DFCS) is seeking candidates for the position of Child Welfare Intake Specialist Supervisor for the Child Protective Services Intake Communications Center (CICC). The location of this position is flexible to any location in Georgia.

Pay Grade: K

This position has designated special entry salary that is non-negotiable.

Supervises, guides, and/or instructs the work assignments of subordinate staff. Supervises staff that communicates with the general public, internal customers and/or external customers to provide information and services. Directs staff in obtaining information and assessing intakes for determination of priority, allegation type, and handling.

Work Shift: After Hours - 3:00 pm to 1:30 am (includes every other weekend and holidays)

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Documents data/information such as organizational unit or program area work activity, productivity, budget expenditures, investigative reports, and resource utilization.
  • Evaluates and monitors program services and operational efficiency by conducting audits and analysis and preparing reports or recommendations for improvement.
  • Provides technical assistance and program information to customers.
  • Gathers detailed or confidential information, conducts interviews, etc.
  • May assist in the operation, management, and planning of the organization.
  • Provides assistance and problem resolution to claimants, employers, staff, other agencies, and/or the general public.
  • Performs job responsibilities with minimal supervision.
  • Supervises and plans work of assigned staff.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and three (3) years of lead/supervisory experience in a customer service setting handling questions, complaints, and providing information.
  • OR five (5) years of lead/supervisory worker experience in a customer service setting handling questions, complaints, and providing information.
  • OR two (2) years of experience at the lower-level Child Welfare Svc Intake Spc 3 (SSP152) or equivalent position.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Four (4) years’ experience working in a call center, preferably CPS or 911 call center.
  • Work experience with a social service, community-based, or constituent services organization.
  • Knowledge of Child Protective Services programs.
  • Proficient experience with Microsoft Office Suite and/or standard software applications.
