About the Role

Our client, a leading child development clinic in Sandton , is seeking a highly qualified Child Psychologist with a specialization in early intervention. This role is critical in providing diagnostic assessments, therapeutic interventions, and support for young children and their families facing developmental challenges. The psychologist will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to create tailored intervention plans and foster optimal development. This position offers a hybrid work model, allowing for a blend of in-clinic sessions and remote consultations within the vibrant Gauteng province.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and evaluations for infants and young children.
• Develop and implement individualized therapeutic intervention plans based on assessment findings.
• Provide play-based therapy, behavioral therapy, and other evidence-based interventions.
• Offer counseling and support to parents and caregivers, equipping them with strategies to support their child.
• Collaborate closely with pediatricians, therapists (speech, occupational, physical), educators, and other professionals.
• Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
• Maintain accurate and confidential client records in compliance with ethical and legal standards.
• Participate in case conferences and team meetings.
• Stay current with research and advancements in child psychology and early intervention.
• Potentially conduct remote therapy sessions via secure telehealth platforms.

Requirements

• Doctoral degree (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology with a specialization in Child Psychology or Developmental Psychology.
• Registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Clinical Psychologist.
• Minimum of 5 years of post-doctoral experience working with infants and young children, focusing on early intervention.
• Expertise in diagnostic assessment tools and therapeutic modalities for early childhood development.
• Strong understanding of developmental disorders (e.g., ASD, ADHD, learning disabilities).
