Chief Technology Officer (CTO) & Digital Transformation Officer (DTO)

Location: Dar es Salaam, Tanzania (Relocation to Dar es Salaam is required)

A well-established financial services group in Dar es Salaam is seeking a Chief Technology and digital Transformation Officer (CTO) to lead its enterprise-wide digital transformation and technology strategy.

In this executive-level role, reporting directly to the CEO, you will shape the organization’s technology roadmap, modernize legacy systems, drive digital banking innovation, and foster a forward-thinking, data-driven culture.

ð Key Focus Areas:

• Strategic Technology & Digital Leadership - Lead and implement the IT & digital transformation strategy aligned with the group’s long-term growth.
• Data & Analytics - Promote a data-driven culture through predictive analytics, real-time insights, and AI/ML applications.
• Cybersecurity, Compliance & Risk Management - Ensure the robust protection of data and infrastructure while maintaining regulatory alignment.
• Core Systems & Infrastructure Modernization - Drive upgrades of legacy systems and strengthen cloud, API, and core banking platforms.
• Team Leadership & Innovation Culture- Mentor and empower high-performing IT and digital teams, promoting an agile and innovative mindset.
  
  

ð¯ What We’re Looking For:

• 11+ years of IT leadership, with at least 5 years in an executive role.
• Industry experience - Financial Services, Banking, FinTech or Telecoms
• Proven success in leading large-scale digital transformation
• Strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, regulatory compliance (e.g., Basel and GDPR), API integration, and cloud strategy.
• Customer-centric and innovation-driven leadership style.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s or MBA preferred).
• Preferred certifications: CISA, CISSP, TOGAF, PMP, ITIL, or Certified Digital Transformation Officer (CDTO).
