Requirements
- A Senior / Grade 12 certificate and Security Certificate. Valid 3 Firearms SAPS Competency Certificates. Private Security Regulatory Authority Security Grade B Certificate. Three (3) to five (5) years of supervisory experience in a security environment.
- Valid driver’s license. Strategic and operational security management plan. Computer literacy and skills in MS Office. Knowledge of security legislation such as MISS, MPSS, and the Protection of Information Act.
Duties
- Implement security policies aligned with relevant acts and national directives. Manage security functions with private security service providers according to SLAs. Ensure proper implementation of security measures. Promote safety and security awareness. Support subordinates and foster a culture of innovation and performance. Develop and implement performance improvement schemes.
- Advise top management and sector bodies on policies and strategies. Communicate effectively with stakeholders. Ensure a safe working environment. Implement security measures and policies.
- Conduct risk analysis and security appraisals for national and provincial offices. Liaise with SSA, SAPS, and other security agencies. Develop strategic plans for the security section. Ensure compliance with security policies and safety rules.
- Distribute emergency procedures and fire safety programs. Manage human resources within the section, including staff development and HRD policies. Develop operational policies and standards.
- Monitor security operations. Promote awareness programs. Support institutional planning, appraisals, and monitoring. Liaise with fire departments. Conduct security inspections and training. Implement security systems to enhance safety.
- Collaborate with stakeholders on safety measures. Investigate incidents, liaise with police, and ensure equipment availability. Conduct theft investigations and risk management analyses. Compile monthly OHS reports.
- Maintain updated operational policies. Prepare monitoring and evaluation reports. Implement security awareness programs across installations. Assist in policy implementation and maintenance procedures.
- Organize workshops to raise awareness on policies and guidelines. Facilitate best practice learning. Address security, OH, and safety queries from internal and external clients.
- Administer HR, HRD, and EE reports. Manage administrative functions, logistics, stakeholder collaboration, and knowledge management. Coordinate security at events according to SASREA. Oversee vetting of personnel and service providers. Appointment conditional on positive security screening.
