The individual will primarily be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
Lead, manage, and monitor the process of developing and implementing NHBRC strategic plans. Review and monitor annual business plans and implement corrective actions to enhance stakeholder value and NHBRC sustainability.
Develop strategic plans aligned with the overall business objectives. Responsible for the organization’s short, medium, and long-term strategies to fulfill business deliverables and visualize the future for proper adaptation of long-term strategies.
Provide strategic leadership and oversight to divisions across 9 provinces, including Business Services/Customer Care, Technical Services, Corporate Services, Legal, Compliance & Enforcement, Policy Development, and Social Transformation.
Implement and maintain NHBRC’s operational procedures, report on performance, and initiate improvements.
Establish procedures to maintain high standards of operations, effectiveness, reliability, and safety.
Identify major risks, develop mitigation plans, and oversee business continuity and disaster management strategies to ensure organizational sustainability and compliance.
Review procurement and contracts to ensure legislative and regulatory compliance and competitive pricing.
Build strategic partnerships with customers to generate customer-driven solutions, enhancing customer satisfaction and value.
Act as a custodian of organizational policy concerning external parties and vendors.
Foster statutory governance in relation to the Housing Protection Measures Act.
Report operational matters to the CEO, attend Council and Committee meetings, and present relevant information.
Ensure development and implementation of Employment Equity requirements.
Promote a corporate culture of ethics, customer focus, service, and integrity.
Ensure adherence to all labor laws.
Evaluate the performance of executives.
Perform other related functions as requested by the CEO or the Council.
Liaise with high-level stakeholders, including the Minister, MECs, Premiers, and the Portfolio Committee.
Minimum Requirements:
Postgraduate Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, Architecture, or related built environment qualification (mandatory).
Professional Registration (Pr) with the relevant built environment body (mandatory).
An additional Postgraduate Degree (NQF 9) in Business Administration/Leadership is advantageous.
Minimum 10 years of Operations Management experience in a large organization within the construction, built environment, or housing sector.
At least 10 years managing technical teams, including 6 years leading executive teams.
Practical experience in public sector procurement and compliance.
Experience in a regulatory sector is advantageous.
Advantages:
