As COO, you will work closely with the CEO and executive team to define, implement, and monitor operational strategies that align with our mission and business objectives. You will oversee cross-functional teams, streamline operational processes, and ensure the highest standards of compliance, efficiency, and customer satisfaction across the organisation.
Duties :
- Collaborate with the CEO to define the organisation's vision, strategy, and operational objectives.
- Build an inclusive, high-performance culture and lead cross-functional teams to deliver on strategic priorities.
- Continuously monitor market and industry trends, adjusting strategies to maintain competitiveness and sustainability.
- Develop and execute operational strategies that enhance productivity, cost-effectiveness, and service delivery.
- Oversee supply chain, finance, and customer service functions to ensure seamless operations.
- Implement best practices and process improvements across departments.
- Monitor operational and financial performance, identifying risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with all legislative, regulatory, and industry requirements.
- Oversee internal audits, SLA agreements, and supplier/vendor contracts.
- Drive data-driven decision-making through robust analytics and performance reporting.
- Strengthen client relationships through exceptional service delivery.
- Identify opportunities for upselling, cross-selling, and expanding business partnerships.
- Lead customer service initiatives that boost satisfaction and retention.
- Mentor and develop senior managers, fostering a results-driven, collaborative culture.
- Identify and implement technology solutions to improve operational efficiency and customer experience.
Job Experience & Skills Required :
Qualifications :
- Matric (Garde 12)
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, or Business Management (or equivalent).
- Completed MBA
Experience :
- At least 10 years experience in the Transport Industry, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Functional training in Leadership, Compliance Management, Operations Management, Business Risk Management, Strategic Business Management, and Financial Systems & Controls.
- In-depth knowledge of diverse business functions (supply chain, finance, customer service, etc.).
- Aviation sector and road freight experience advantageous.
- Strong project management, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- High-level proficiency in Microsoft Office, data and financial analytics, and cost/revenue/cash management.
- Knowledge of Basic Conditions of Employment and Industrial Relations.
