An experienced and strategic Chief Operating Officer (COO) to oversee daily operations, drive business growth, and develop institutional-grade research in macroeconomics, blockchain, and treasury management. What’s the role?

You will be responsible for :

Strategic & Operational Leadership

• Oversee daily operations across departments to ensure efficiency and scalability
• Collaborate with the CEO to define and execute growth strategies
• Lead cross-functional teams and promote a culture of innovation and accountability
• Monitor KPIs and drive continuous process improvement

Financial & Treasury Oversight

• Manage front-to-back treasury operations, liquidity, and risk exposure
• Oversee compliance with SARB and exchange control regulations
• Lead internal treasury product development and client fund movement controls
• Support management reporting and financial planning

Research & Macro Strategy

• Lead institutional-grade research on crypto, macroeconomics, and blockchain
• Design trading and risk models aligned to economic trends
• Publish thought leadership and support client advisory with macro insights
• Ensure KYC, AML, and transaction monitoring standards are upheld
• Oversee hedge monitoring and regulatory compliance in both TradFi and DeFi
• Maintain RE5 compliance and ongoing regulatory qualifications across teams
• Champion AI-driven automation across treasury, risk, and investment functions
• Streamline workflows and eliminate inefficiencies using intelligent systems

Venture Capital & Product Development

• Oversee VC support from deal flow to investment analysis
• Lead the launch of blockchain-based financial products and ensure market fit

Stakeholder & Relationship Management

• Represent the company at industry events and build strategic partnerships
• Manage client, regulator, and institutional investor relationships

Customer Operations

• Ensure accurate, secure client transactions and reconciliation
• Develop clear escalation protocols in crypto / fiat hybrid ecosystems

Requirements

• Tertiary Qualification - Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field.
• 5+ years’ experience in the same or similar role
• Experience in a Banking environment – advantageous
• Additional certifications in Risk Management, Treasury, or AI & Automation – advantageous
