Job description

Key Responsibilities:

- Oversee the daily operations of the medical department on board ships

- Manage a team of nurses and provide guidance and support as needed

- Develop and implement medical protocols and procedures to ensure the health and safety of crew members

- Coordinate with the ship's captain and crew to provide medical care and support as needed

- Maintain accurate medical records and reports

- Monitor and maintain medical supplies and equipment on board

- Conduct regular training and drills for medical emergencies

- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies

- Communicate effectively with all levels of staff, including crew members, management, and medical professionals on shore

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Nursing or a related field

- Current and valid nursing license

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in nursing, preferably in a leadership role

- Experience working in a maritime or remote setting is a plus

- Strong leadership and communication skills

- Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment

- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities

- Knowledge of medical equipment and procedures

- Willingness to travel and work on board ships for extended periods of time
