Represent the Master in overall charge of the ship, ensuring safe handling, manoeuvring and navigation as per International Maritime Organisation statutes.
Maintain an effective dredge operation, optimising resource utilisation while ensuring maximum dredging output and crew safety.
Grade 12, S4 Marine Studies, STCW 95 Certificate of Competency Chief Mate, issued by the South African Maritime Safety Authority. Three years' experience sailing as a Chief Mate, Code 08 Driver's License.
Knowledge: Employee relations, computer literacy, DGPS navigational systems.
Skills: Ship handling experience, leadership qualities, communication skills.
Preference will be given to suitably qualified applicants from designated groups in line with the Employment Equity Plan and Targets.
