Job description

FMCG / Pharma concern has an opportunity for a candidate with SAIPA, CIMA, or BCom Accounting qualification to take on the role of a Financial Controller / Senior Accountant.

Experience in dealing with multiple entities and knowledge of stock / inventory is highly advantageous.

SAIPA articles / registration is highly advantageous.

Minimum Requirements:

  • BCom Finance degree and 2 to 3 years post-article experience is highly advantageous.
  • Fluency in English and Afrikaans due to the business's clients.

Position Objectives:

  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Supervise and coordinate financial activities.
  • Monitor and interpret cash flows and predict future trends.
  • Regulate and administer all existing and future projects.
  • Develop financial management controls to minimize risks.
  • Manage stock costing, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Consult with external auditors and manage treasury functions.

Key Duties:

  • Reporting, including daily sales numbers, month-end results, and internal reports.
  • Preparation and review of management reporting, variance analysis, and forecasts.
  • Reconciliations of balance sheets, accounts payable, receivable, and payroll.
  • Ensure adherence to tax, statutory, and audit requirements.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits.
  • Manage insurance, working capital, fixed assets, and liaise with banks.
  • Develop and implement SOPs for all business cycles.
  • Address ad hoc queries, conduct cost-reduction reviews, and develop internal controls.

Fluency in English and Afrikaans is required due to client interactions. Previous experience in inventory management and manufacturing knowledge is highly advantageous.
