Overview

Are you a hands-on technology leader with a proven track record in driving transformation within manufacturing? We are recruiting for a Chief Information Officer (CIO) to spearhead a global technology overhaul, leading major ERP, data, automation, and AI initiatives.

This is a delivery-focused leadership role for a CIO who thrives on execution, understands infrastructure and software, and can align global teams to achieve measurable outcomes.

The ideal candidate would be someone with senior IT leadership experience in manufacturing, a strong track record in managing software development projects and teams, and a hands-on approach rather than a corporate CIO mindset. This is an in-office role, based in Cape Town.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the rebuild and rollout of core ERP and proprietary order management systems.
• Establish and drive business intelligence, reporting standards, and group-wide data structures.
• Eliminate manual processes through automation, workflow optimisation, and digital execution.
• Define and implement a practical AI strategy with high-impact business use cases.
• Embed manufacturing systems that support Lean practices, real-time visibility, and continuous improvement.
• Oversee global IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, governance, and systems architecture.
• Build and lead a high-performing IT and development team based in Cape Town.
• Influence cross-functional teams globally while fostering a collaborative, delivery-focused culture.

Candidate Profile – Minimum Requirements

• 10+ years in senior IT leadership roles within manufacturing.
• Proven ERP / MRP delivery in complex, multi-entity environments.
• Strong BI platform expertise (Power BI, Qlik, or similar).
• Demonstrated success in automation of operations and admin functions.
• Experience leading internal software development teams.
• Exposure to multinational operations, ideally including Asia.
• Deep understanding of systems architecture, security, and governance.
